Ranthambore National Park
A Premier Tiger Safari Destination in Rajasthan
Overview
Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan is one of India’s most iconic wildlife reserves — known globally for its thriving Royal Bengal Tigers, striking landscapes, and ancient history. Covering a large protected area in the foothills of the Aravalli and Vindhya ranges, Ranthambore offers some of the best opportunities in India to see tigers in their natural habitat as well as diverse wildlife and scenic beauty.
About Ranthambore
Originally established as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary, Ranthambore became one of the first tiger reserves under Project Tiger in 1973 and was later declared a national park. Its terrain includes dry deciduous forests, open grasslands, rocky outcrops, and seasonal lakes — creating excellent habitats for tigers, leopards, deer, and many bird species. One of its most striking features is the historic Ranthambore Fort, perched atop a hill overlooking the wilderness.
